I've lived in my newly constructed house for 15 months. A high pitched noise has developed in the
water meter (in the basement, where the water comes in from the road) whenever I turn on the
kitchen or power room faucets. If I flush a toilet while the faucet is on the high pitch noise goes away. If
I have both the kitchen and powder room faucets on at the same time the high pitched noise goes away.
As soon I turn one off, however, the high pitch noise returns. It goes off as soon as the water is turned
off. As far as I can tell there is no pressure reducing valve on the water line. The water company replaced
the water meter for me but the problem persists. Any suggestions on what is causing the noise?
