: We had an AMERICAST sink put in 5 years ago. We were told that if it chips, whatever shows will be white so the chip will not show. It is chipped. There is black underneath, as in cast iron sinks. What is the story?

I don't know who gave you that information, but now when you see him, you can inform them that chips will show the black underneath. I have heard that they make a nice chip fixer for these sinks. I would give American Standard a call and see where they have them.
