duke: Most codes have a chapter that covers the part about discharging hot water directly into a sanitary drainage system. (you did not mention what the drain you intended to use was connected to however)
The other consideration is regarding contamination of the potable water supply with a cross connection. Discharge from the drains mentioned must be by way of an air gap into a suitable hub drain or funnel drain.
Is it safe/legal to combine waterheater, boiler(low temp), boiler hotwater heating coil blow off valves to a single discharge pipe thru floor and outside the house. all are 3/4" , am thinking i could use 1 1/4 pipe. any problems with this idea?
