It is not a case of the best way, since there is only one way. The brass flange has to be soldered back onto the lead bend. In your case,it becomes more difficult since I assume it is a very old lead bend which means that the lead is badly oxidized and needs to be cleaned thoroughly before the solder will adhere. : I have a flange that has come off, and I need to replace. The flange was connected to a 4" lead bend in the cement floor. What is the best way to replace the flange. I don't know anything about working with lead, although I am pretty good at sweating pipes. Any help will be appreciated.
