That is not a water pressure regulator, it is a pump pressure switch. The large nut sets the pressure and the small one determines how low the pressure will drop, (relative to the large nut's set pressure, i.e., the differential), before the pump will restart.
: Need help locating pix to help me understand the inner workings of a water pressure regulator...my house is 5 yrs old, private well, press range s/b 40-60 lbs. Said regulator is square, mounted into the pipe in my basement, and has wires extending out the back. Could a mineral build up in the water effect its functioning?
