: We poured water down our floor drain, but it contained junk(leaves, wood chips, etc). I tried to keep the chunk from going down but our plumber had cut out a large hole for the hose that drains our soft water. The floor drain is now clogged, is it safe to put some type of drain cleaner down it. I am assuming that the floor drain is connected to our sewer system. Is this a safe assumption? Your help would be appreciated. Try wrapping a rag around a water hose and forcing water down the drain, if that don't work you will need a plumber to snake the drain.
