If it is cast iron, the only offset that is safe to use is the long "lazy Z" pattern. But it is 4" long and very difficult to make the lead joint, it will only be used as a last resort. The 2" oval shaped one creates a restricted outlet for the bowl and will be prone to frequent stoppages. A plastic offset because of the smoother transition will seldom cause problems and it can be rotated to move the bowl sideways which you should not do with the oval castiron one. : Greetings:
