David:---Do the job right the first time. Remove all the dammaged dry wall 12"-16" up from the pan lip....replace it with wonder board or similar material and retile with salvaged or similar acceptable colored tile. A patch job will probably cause additional problems with water leakage downstairs in the not to distant future, and then you will be faced with the problem again. Lots of luck...Bud
