: My area in Montgomery County, MD has had an epidemic of pinholes since our water authority replaced the water mains and flushed some chemical into the system. Our plumber mentioned a pressure regulator as an alternative to replacing the pipes. We are in a ranch house with no basement. The pipes enter by the kitchen, then cross the house in the attic. : The idea is the corrosive gunk and the high pressure combine to drill into weak parts of the pipe to form the pinholes. : A pressure regulator would reduce the process. : Does this make sense?
