Solid Surface Veneers

We are putting in some new countertops. I was considering Corian, when the sales guy started to suggest the SSV (solid surface veneer). It has become more agressively priced, and they thru in a bunch of extras, so I went for it. Anyone have any experience with it? It saved me $1200 on an original price of $3700. Same exact color, but 3mm veneer on partical board vs. 1/2 inch solid surface Another question I have is does anyone know of any issues with using undermount sinks with this surface (or 1/2" SS Corian)? How is the weight of a sink full of water supported ? Thanks
