|In response to Re: flue shut-off in boiler connection to chimney|
: Where do I find a flue shut-off for a 9" flue? I may not be calling this device by the correct name but I know they exist. This is for an old oil-fired hot water boiler and I'm hoping to improve the units efficiency by automatically closing off the flue pipe after the unit shuts down.
Save your self the money and don't put it on. Honeywell makes one but my experience is they only last about 2 to 3 years before they stick and fail. This will wipe out all your savings with one service call. Spend your money better and install a Wayne Blue Angel Retention Head burner. This burner has a draft shut off built in and will save you much more money than the damper. I have use Blue Angel for about 600 conversions with much success and major fuel savings.
