Our apartment block was built 1940 and has galvanized water supply pipes. Whilst water pressure is excellent, rusty water appears on first turning on the faucet. As the building is solid brick with hidden piping, replacement will be costly. Is there a high possibility of failure (Leaking)? Is some sort of chemical corrosion treatment possible to arrest the problem at least as a short term solution?
