|In response to Re: Electric Water Heater High Temp|
: I have a Rheem 40 gallon heater in our attic. A few days ago it tripped out due to very hot water. Since then I have replaced the upper thermostat, lower thermostat, 4500 wupper element, and the 4500w lower element- in this order. Each effort did not fix my problem. I thought this was all there was on an electric heater that could cause this type malfunction. I am at a loss now. Can you offer any suggestion short of dragging the unit out of the attic for replacement?
The thermostat reads the water temp. by the shear fact that it must rest firmly and flush in it's bracket, against the surface of the tank.
