Any : suggestions would be appreciated. The problem was a small wooden stick that lodged itself in the trap. This caused some material to be held above the trap and that rotted to cause a smell. The solution was to clean out the trap thoroughly and the smell decreased significantly. Hopefully it will be gone completely after a couple of uses.
