The flange is designed to fit on top of the finished floor, and then the toilet sits over it. : When installing a new toilet should the top face of the flange be set flush with the finished floor or should the underside of the flange rest on top of the finished floor? I have heard both ways and was wondering if there are advantages of one way vs. the other.
