In response to Re: Pipe Noise

: I have a clicking sound that comes from behind the wall (not from the water heater) when I run the hot water. It starts off slow, then clicks faster and faster as the water to the faucet heats up. When the water runs hottest, the clicking stops. I wrote it off to pipe expansion when it was cold out, but it still does it even in the hottest days of the year. In addition, the water does seem to take an unusually long time to heat up. Any ideas? Thanks

Ed,
Could be the water lines, or even the drain lines. Hot water and plastic pipe can do that.
When the pipe expands and then contracts, it sometimes grabs and makes clicking noises. Terry
