Ya you can use the piercing thing, I did and it works fine, just leave a loop in the line to allow the fridge to be pulled out without problems.

: : I bought a new refrigerator with an ice maker. I do not have a water line currently. The location of the refrigerator is on the opposite side of the kitchen sink. The entire kitchen is over a crawl space in the basement that is right next to all kinds of water lines (the washer/dryer, the kitchen water lines, etc.) Therefore I have access to water if I drill a hole in the floor of the kitchen down to this crawl space. However, I don't know what to do after that. Should I get one of those copper kits that pierce a hole into the cold water line going to my kitchen sink or what?

: Any help would be great, thanks.
