air bubbles coming into toilet tank

Thanks in advance for any help on this. I live in a 30yr old house, which I assume has the original plumming fixtures based on the aged look of it all. After flushing either toilet, BOTH toilets will start gurgling at regular intervals: 3-4 quick bubbles, 5-6 seconds apart. This goes on in both tanks for about 15 - 20 minutes and then stops. The bubbles are coming from the fresh water supply leading into the tank. Shutting off the supply valve below the toilet stops the bubbles. My assumption is that if air is coming in, water is going out somewhere. Right? But I see no leaks in the garage below the bathrooms. Can anyone give me a clue? Thanks in advance.

Anthony
