Doing a bathroom gut and re-do. Want to keep the old tub, which is great. Called a reglazing pro, who told me his process is to first etch it with what he called a mixture of hydrofluoric, sulfuric, and other acids. Which he then proposes to flush down my drains. After saying I thought that sounded just great, it struck me that this is terrible stuff to put down the drains, both environment-wise and for the condition of my old drain pipes. I didn't ask him whether the DEP knows he does this. What do you think? |
