They are sometimes used. They cost quite a bit more to install and the walls have to be thicker behind them. Most builders would consider these detriments to their profit margins. Knowledgable custom builder and/or homeowners are not quite as reticent to spend money for the resulting quality. An additional factor is that there are few 1.6 gpf tank type wall hung toilets available.
: : Why is that the type of toilets used in public restrooms...the type with no tank that are wall hung...are not used in homes? It seems they would be more efficient, require less maintenance and be easier to clean around and under.
