|In response to Re: Problem flusing toilet|
I lived with this problem for quite a while, I have a house built in the 60's that had the same problem. Buying and installing a Kohler low flow 1.6 G.P.F fixed the problem...
: I bought a house built in 1950. The bathroom toilet and tub are robins egg blue and are original, I believe, indicating the age. Even if added later, the toilet is probably at least 20 years old. It is not one of these low flow toilets.
: The toilet is not flushing completely. It never overflows. However, only on rare occasions does it complete empty out before filling back up. The water seems to swirl around and toilet paper and you know what doesn't always go down completely. The plunger does not seem to help. A year ago, public sewage was added to this street. Before this, a septic tank was used.
: What can I do to correct this problem? Is it the fixtures inside the tank? A engineering related pressure problem? A pipe that is to small?
: What do you recommend?
