Usually by the time it has tarnished, the brass plating is gone. It originally had a clear coating on it to protect against discoloration, but when it becomes damaged there is no way to stop the tarnish. : i installed a polished brass faucet in my vanity and now after a few years it looks really tarnished. not exactly sure what happened to it. i never used abrasives on it. any suggestions on how to polish it.
