In response to Re: Recycling - Built-in Microwave & Oven
: We recently replaced our black 27" GE built-in mirowave and oven with a newer model. The old microwave/oven was installed in 1987, still works great, and would be perfect for someone wanting to update their own kitchen. Is there someplace or someone that I could give the older microwave/oven to?

: I hate to haul it to the dump, because its still in perfect working condition. If you know of anyone who would take it, please let me know. Thanks.
What State are you in? In New York you can contact the City Solid Waste Public Works department for the name of the Recycling coordinator. In Texas you can contact the Texas Regional Waste Board and ask for the local recycling agency. In California you can contact the California Integrate Waste Management Board organization which has a spinoff called CAL-MAX (California Material Exchange) You can look for CAL MAX at the web site
