All they would have to do is loosen the thermocouple connection at the thermostat, but it is more likely that the thermocouple has burned out and requires replacement. : I was wondering if it would be possible for someone to tamper with a gas hot water heater to prevent the pilot light from staying lit? If so what could be done to undo the tampering....
