The pump can be located anywhere there is space for it. It will require about a 3 foot square area to allow for servicing. It does not get buried. The pit is depressed into the ground but its upper edge is even with the floor level. : Hi : We are building a new bathroom in our basement in San Francisco. We have excavated to reach a legal cieling hgt. The sewage drains are now higher than the toilet to be is. My contractor says we need a sewage ejector pump. Can you give me some general info. Like : 1) Are there rules about where the pump must be located? : 2) how much room will it take up? I know it is buried but then do you need to leave a certain amount of space around it free? : 3) Any other pertinent info would be helpful or a website that might supply the requested info. : Thanks for your help.
