: : My position as a Realtor in North Carolina is assisting my buyer in wise decisions. She is interested in a brick home built prior to 1960 heated by an oil furnace. Problem we see is the oil tank leaks. Can you tell me who we can contact for removal of oil tank and oil spill.

: Carla,
: Call the oil heat company. Our tank leaked and the same people we buy our oil from came out and removed the tank and put in a new one. They charged us cost for the tank, even though it took 2 guys a whole day to get the tank out and in. I love oil heat and oil heat companies!

GREAT ADVICE, and at such a great price! Watch the oil spill. If it is fluid and moving, don't let it get to the floor drain. Soak it up with kitty litter until the Oil supply company can change out tanks for you and they'll dispose of the contaminated kitty litter. Advise your client that oil heat is comfortable and safe in your area, and the oil companies are well established and concerned members of the community.
