In response to Re: laundry sinks
: We have just removed our 1935 double concrete laundry sink and are looking for a replacement but I don't think we need a double one (I assume that was for the time when washing machines evacuated water into one of them). I am not sure what to look for - I want a good quality one but it is in a scruffy basement and so does not have to look that great. Any advice on types/makes would be welcome. Many thanks.

Look up above at the links that say sinks and SHOPPING for some ideas. The double laundry tub allowed soaking in suds and cleanser of heavily soiled work clothes and mud caked heavily soiled kids clothes, and then rinsing without the load having to possibly clog washing machines, since grease and grass clods, fish heads and frogs in the pocket could be collected in the drain screen. If you won't be doing that type of cleaning, a simple single sink functional, and somewhat more attractive can be added.
