: THanks for your reply yesterday. As a backup measure to prevent roots from entering through the joints, could i just pour some concrete over the joint to cover it. My line goes under my driveway and I want to be 1000% sure that i will not have to dig up my driveway again. Concrete dries hard, but not watertight. Even putting concrete collars around the joints is not going to keep roots out forever, because if the joint leaks even a little bit of water it will soak the concrete and the roots will try to grow in to the little pin holes to get to the water.
