Why did you clean the upper one? If a heater does not work, especially after what you have done, it is usually because the upper element is defective. But I suspect you replaced a lot of things that were not necessary just to save the price of a professional. : My 3 yeard old water heater went out on Friday, and I have replaced the bottom element, cleaned the upper one, replaced both thermstates, and checked all the wiring, but I still can not get my water heater to work. Short of replacing it or calling in a plumber, what can I do about it to get it to work. The store I bought this tank from was sold and closed a few months after i bought this tank, so I can't co there.
