:most of the time around here if you have an electric water heater you are in the country and on a well or a local water co. and 8-10 years is normal for a tank to leak, time to replace it. I have a Bradford White 80 gal Electric Hot Water Heater (model M-I-80R5SS-12). It was installed with : our new house in 1992. : Under the heater there is a circular cutout that is about 4-5 inches in diameter. Water is leaking : from some type of insulation that is covering the cutout area. : Any ideas on what may be causing it and what it would cost to replace or fix it ? : Thanks.
