Terry, I have just installed a fiberglass shower pan and I am ready to start tiling with 12x12 granite tiles. I need to know how low to go with my tiles. The backer board is 1/8th inch up from the vertical lip of the pan and is flush with it. Should the first tile go over this joint and rest on the horizontal part of the lip or should it's bottom edge start where the backer board ends. If it should rest on the horizontal part of the lip what material should go behind the bottom of the tile to keep the grout from falling into that space between the back of the tile and the vertical face of the lip. Hope this is not too confusing. thanks |
