In response to Re: Water hammer when neighbor uses automatic sprinklers
: We have fairly new copper plumbing (7years old I think) that was already installed when we bought the house, and every time our neighbor's automatic sprinklers are on there is very loud, constant water hammer, machine-gun like. The hammering doesn't happen when any of our water fixtures are used, but the pipes are loud in general (you can hear the water running through them). Would hammer arrestors help? I haven't checked the pressure yet, but if it is high do you think a regulator would help? Thanks for your help.

I would think that they would help. I would put the arrestor at your incoming water supply. Check with the Sioux Chief web site for sizing. Terry
