In response to Re: air through the flapper valve
The big question is where is the air coming from? Normally the water is flowing out with sufficient velocity that any bubbles would be drawn out with it. Sometimes the water is entering the tank with sufficient volume that it keeps the flapper floating on the water surface. If that happens reducing the water volume with the control valve cures it.
: Hi Terry
: Two of my Gerber standard type 5 gal toilets flush fine but the flapper valve will not close
: because of air bubbles rising up through them in the back of the tank. I have to take off the lid
: and push down the flapper so that the tank will refill.
: Thanks for your time and help.
