: I have to replace the water pressure regulator in my house. Is there anything special I should know before attempting this? I know to turn the water off before and after the meter, hold the nut on the nipple that comes from the meter into the regulator while turning the regulator loose. I don't know if I have to replace the nipple (looks pretty good). Put some pipe dope on the new connections. Anything else? Thanks.

If the pipes look good, you can reuse them.
Keep pipe dope off of rubber seals or washers, If soldering in a line, (not in this case I guess) keep something open to let hot air out.
