|In response to Re: drainage height for basement washer|
: I'm moving my washer & dryer to the basement. How do I know how high the drainage pipe of the washer needs to be?
: The washer & dryer were previously on the first floor.
You can use the drainage height of the upstairs floor as a guide. You do have other fixtures and drains in the basement, Right? The washer drain hose has to be higher than the top of the tub to allow rinse water to remain inside during the rinse and hold cycle, and then to provide an adequate drain vent when the water is finally pumped out. So the drain fitting is usually at the same elevation as the top of the washer
