: You may want to check the local plumbing codes with you municipal plumbing department first, but since codes have been revised over the years, I don't see why this line cannot be reduced down to 3" pipe. This existing line is probably the main stack to the house and I would think you could reduce no further than 3". But again, check local codes first. Marty
