If it is an electric water heater, there should be a label on it advising against installing the blanket. If it is a gas water heater, most of the heat loss is up the center flue which the blanket will not help. : My sister was telling me about a hot water heater "blanket". Do these really save a measurable amount of emergy? My hot water heater in is a small closet -- would the blanket be hard to install? : Thanks much.
