what to replace cast iron waste pipe with

I was all set to knock out the wall crowding the right side of my toilet when I happened to venture into the attic and figure out that the bathroom waste pipe was housed in that very wall. It is approximately 30 inches in towards the center of the house from the back wall that this wall "T"s into.

The only thing I can see to do, is cut the pipe off as it exits from the slab and "L" it toward the back wall and "L" it again to make it rise to the roof to vent in the outside wall. The plan would be to frame in a tile what would be a 6" raised platform covering the redirection in the corner of the bath. Is this feasible? Is some modern waste pipe made out of PVC type material and can they be successfully joined? Is there another way around this that doesn't involve breaking out slab?

Thanks very much for any and all help!
