Main shut off valve (galvanized plumbing)

Hello, I have galvanized plumbing and I just hade my main gate valve replased with a 1" copper ball valve. I am concerned because the plumber used copper pipe. What he did was installed a brass 90 deg. elbow (off the main galvanized pipe) then used copper adapters to the ball valve then brass from the ball valve to the existing galvanized tee. Is this correct plumbing practice? Will this cause excess corrosion in my plumbing?
