How to cure water hammer??

I have what I assume is water hammer occuring in my home. A loud banging when any of the water faucets are turned off. This past weekend I did install a whole house water filter just past the pressure tank from my well. I did not have water hammer before. Is it possible that when i drained the supply lines to install the water filter I somehow improperly bled the air from the system? Please help! -Gary
