sewer smell

I have a sewer smell coming into one of the rooms in my walk out basement. I've opened the clean out drain which is also located in that room, changed the cover, cleaned out the pipes with a drano type substance and had the septic tank emptied. These things seamed to work for a couple of weeks, however the smell is now back. I was wondering if you might have any ideas on where it might be coming from or perhaps how to pinpoint the source of the smell, and any suggestions as to how I might remedy the problem Thanx G.D.
