We had our main clogged this week. Had plumber come to ream the pipe from the cleanout. Both to the street and to the house. Cleaned out lots of crud. He said it never was opened in 50 years.

He recommended an enzyme additive we should add to the system monthly.

1- How effective is it? What does it do?
2- If good where should I get the best?

The good point is now with the new caps I can do my own cleanout. But would like to keep up on this.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

50 years? I don't see a problem, you'll never have to do it again in your lifetime. LOL
