Whats this green stuff on my copper pipe

Its green on pipe with some white stuff (maybe paint). I moved into this apartment a year ago just noticed this.

When copper oxidizes it turns green. On pipes you usually see it where the moisture or humidity is highest. If you get some really bad joint work you'll see it heavy around the solder.

Actually it's just the copper oxidation.

The green patina that you see on copper is the result of an oxidation process, that is corrosion. the patina is composed by copper oxides and carbonate, it's a spontaneous process and it occur whne copper is exposed to the atmosphere.
