What is this line and why is it suddenly leaking?

Can anyone advise on the role of this white line shown in the pictures that is suddenly dripping. Our well/cistern/pressure pump system is four years old, and this line has never dripped before. Thankis in advance.

I answered my own question, thanks anyway. It's an aeration valve connected to the water-in pipe.
