I am new homeowner and experienced my first flooded basement several weeks ago. I would really appreciate some advice. Our sump pump used to discharge back into the ground (I have no idea where the water went down there?!). After the flooded basement our plumber disconnected this and the water has been pooling onto the driveway for about two weeks. Is this going to damage the driveway? Should I direct the discharge pipe onto the lawn? What happens in the winter when temps are below freezing? Should I have it reconnected to flow back underground?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!:)
