Well over winter

    We only use our well for outside watering. So I drain the system in the winter and the pump/motor sits all winter without use. Is this damaging to the pump or motor in any way? I just know if you let a car sit for long periods of time it can be hard on it. Should I be running the pump once in a while in the winter?

    I should have mentioned it is a submersible.
