I just had a new well drilled and I could tell by the rig's position that the well hole would not be plumb. Will this make a difference in operation or will it affect the life of the pump they put down there? They drilled down 204' , placed a 5" PVC casing with gravel around it. Sealed the top with a 2x2 concrete slab.
Thanks!

A submersible pump does not need to be vertical. They can be tilted even to horizontal.

Put a level on the casing or a plumb bob down in the hole 10-15'. Your driller should have had level gauges on the rig. Land reference does not make a good reference point. I still don't think it will make any difference.

The only time I have seen it really be important is when you're dealing with a windmill.

Texas, plumb holes are imperative for elevators too.

You should have no problems, the inside of the pvc i smooth, so it won't chafe up the wire.
