I have been away from field work for quite a while....and my latest CA code book is 2007. Can anyone tell me if UPC still allows a water heater install using Watts 210 temp activated gas shut off, combined with a 150 psi pressure relief on the building water supply ( outside, inboard of any shutoffs). This is how my condo was built in '85, and how my current WH was installed in about 2002. I am trying to think ahead with things wifey may have to deal with, as I am somewhat incapacitated with chemtherapy for the forseeable future.

The WH is not in an inaccessible indoor location...it is in a utility closet on a the balcony, so putting in a conventional TP would probably be doable......just costly since we will have to hire it done......I am beyond trying to do these things now!!!

This may be covered by the Nat'l Fuel Gas Code, but that is incorporated into CA code book.
