Water won't come into dishwasher?

My neighbor's GE dishwasher won't allow the water to enter when it's turned on. Soneone told her to check the "float'!! Would that cause the water not to enter?? If not, any suggestions?? Thanks

That is one of many things...
Timer switch and solenoid valve are also good choices.

Simple question, did someone shut off the supply valve? Wouldn't be the first time that's happened.

Is this new and happened when installed, or an existing one where it just started happening?

Easier than that !! Her son, while fixing their faucet, turned off the water valve to it under the sink and she didn't know it!!!! But thanks

All it needs is trouble shooting to find out where the problem was...
