I had my 3/4" Polybutylene crack on the house end of the line about 2' off the house. Digging it up I broke it and did a quick repair with 2 Shark bite connectors and 6" of PEX. The break was about 6" from the copper. I am wondering if I might be better off correctly connecting the two pipes to another shut off valve. Prior to digging this up, I had a plumber come and give an estimate to Locke and repair. The plumber said they would need to replace the entire line as they would not hunt for a small leak and fix it. It would also require adding a second shutoff valve at the house as required by VA. I am looking for suggestions about properly fixing this little portion shown and doing it properly.
Repair picture attached. Thanks for any advice.
